Our Trip to New York

We went to New York on Wednesday of last week and came home on Sunday. Our Pastor was running in the New York Marathon to help raise money for Judah Cuba. So they asked us to come along. Pastor Israel did an awesome job on Sunday running. We were very proud of him.

On Thursday, we spent all day in New York. We went to every major site in New York. We started early and got home really late. The nightlife in New York is amazing. We did some sightseeing, shopping, and eating. Friday, we went to Central park to get Pastor Israel registered for the race and he had a photosession. We continued to roam the city trying to see all that could be seen. On Saturday, Josh went to the photography convention, Pastor Israel rested up for the race, and we went shopping and got massages. Good stuff. All of Sunday was spent in Central Park cheering him on as he ran. We had a great time!! Our tour guides were the best!!! We are so thankful they asked us to go!!! Oh did I mention how good the food was. We enjoyed lots of ethnic food and pizza. We walked a lot so I did not feel bad for eating.

HappyBirthday MOM!!

Josh and I celebrated my mom's birthday. We had a great meal and fellowship. This weekend we relaxed and did nothing. I have fighting being sick all week. I enjoyed the rest and Josh picked out great movies. Wednesday we will be leaving for New York...I am so excited. We will be posting lots of pictures next week.

Relaxation...well kind of

This weekend Josh and I tried to relax but ended up working a little on the house. He patched the walls and I cleaned. On Friday, we went to the fair and enjoyed good food. The rest of the weekend we did projects around the house. I think we both enjoyed being home. Our living room with new pillows and tables. As you can see the lower part of the room is painted. We are trying to find another color to paint the entire room. Neither of us liked the color up there now once it was painted. You live and learn!! As you can see we have a lot to paint in the living room.

This is where Josh removed our doorbell. He put it on the other side of the wall. He is patching the wall in the living room. I was a little scared!! It turned out very nice.

After moving in we found that our attic did not have a light in it. So...Josh installed one yesterday. He was very proud of his work.

Painting

This weekend we painted our kitchen. You can also see the partly finished kitchen table. We are missing 4 chairs. I finished those the other night. I love the kitchen. It looks a lot darker in person...so you should come see it. Melanie, Charity, and myself had a really good time Thursday night and part of Friday painting. We enjoyed singing old church songs and talking while we painted. Josh was busy moving the door bell and and laughing at us. Josh started painting the living room but we soon found out that we did not like the color we picked out. So we found another color and will start painting that next weekend. I am not looking forward to tackling that room!!!!!! Melanie and Charity have promised their services to help bring color to our house. Friday night Josh wasn't feeling well so we hung around the house and enjoyed a few movies. It was nice to veg. Saturday I cleaned and he painted. Of course Sunday was very busy with church.

Trip to High Point

Josh and I went to High Point Friday night to visit with my family and we had a wedding consultation. We enjoyed going out to eat Friday night and hanging out around the house and catching up on all the lastest news with the family. Did I mention grandma sent food home with us...mmmmm good. The good thing is we get to see you guys again in two weeks. YEAH!!

Feeling Creative

I love fall weather!! Last week I went shopping for fall decorations to go on my front door wreath. I finally got around to making it this week and I will say that I am very impressed with my creation. The spark of creativity has gone to another level.....I have started sanding and priming our kitchen table. I am giving it a completely different look than before. So this should be interesting. After the table is finished...the paint goes on the walls!!! Josh and I are off to Greensboro this weekend for some tlc with my family. I am so excited about seeing everybody.

Weekend Adventure

Josh worked very hard last week during Extreme Makeover to make our sanctuary at church look good. I helped sand cabinents and paint. Next, is our house!!

Josh built this dog house for Macy. Seriously, It is 5 ft tall. Macy is not that big and will not get that big. Josh had fun doing it. Macy loves it. She would not get in it for a picture. She was to busy barking at the dogs next door.

This painting is new. We bought it on Friday. It is very big and beautiful. You can't tell in this picture but it is very big!!

This is the living room. The chair to the right Josh and I got from the church yard sale this weekend and are going to have new padding and fabric put on it. We are getting ready to start painting!!YEAH!! If anyone remembers our old house it was very colorful!! This house right now has the same color throughout the entire house. All that is getting ready to change. We are also getting pillow made for the coaches. As you can see we NEED COLOR!! Oh and the picture on the wall is moving to a bedroom. Relevant College Ministry

Josh and I are the leader of Relevant the College and Career Ministry at New Beginnings. Starting 9/12 we are going to have services near Barton College. We have a great team of leaders and band. We are extremely excited about this ministry getting started. To get the word out to the students we went to Dog Days at Barton to hand out information about our ministry. Charity, Joleen, and myself baked cupcakes ALL day. We cooked over 200 cupcakes. Needless-to-say I do not like cupcakes very much!! Which is a good thing. We had a good turn out and have had a lot of interest about in our college ministry.

Happy Anniversary to us!!

Monday was our 2 year anniversary. It is so hard to believe how fast time has gone by!! As we celebrated Josh and I reflected on all the things that have taken place in the past 2 years of dating and 2 years of marriage. God has brought us through many things and placed us in places we never imagined. We are so blessed to have such a wonderful God centered relationship. In 2 years we have done a lot but we can not wait to see where we will be in the years to come.

To celebrate we had what we called Anniversary week!! We took turns this week surprising each other and were responsible for dinner and entertainment. We also are going to be planning a trip to Italy next Christmas...so look out.

Wedding

About a month ago we went to Gray and Pam's wedding. We had a good time. Heath as always was very entertaining at our table. I am making a vow to update our blog better. Busy is a good word to describe Josh and I!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Update

Sorry for the delay but we have been really busy since we returned from Florida. It seems like this summer has passed us by. We had a really good time in Orlando. We enjoyed going to Judah. I got lots of rest and hung out at the pool while Josh was busy going to worship sessions. We did take a break on Thursday and go to Disneyworld. What were we thinking?? Going to Disneyworld in July. CRAZY. It was so hot but we had a lot of fun. The fireworks are the best. All in all it was a great experience. We got back last Saturday and then left again on Friday to Colorado. The weather there was much nicer. We went with Pastor Israel and Rachel. We had a great time. We got to see lots while we there. Sorry no pictures due to having to fly. Josh didn't want to take the camera. We went to Colorado Springs on Saturday. Sunday was filled with church, eating, and napping. We had an amazing service on Sunday night. God moved and touched many people . We got home Monday night. I love to travel but am glad to be home and back in the routine of things.
